Mobile POS

Mobile POS: sell on the shop floor and on the road with the same stock, prices and ledger

Not every sale happens at a counter. A mobile POS lets staff sell from the aisle to cut queues, and lets drivers invoice at the customer's door, while stock, prices and posting stay exactly as they are at the till.

A route day, from depot to settlement

What happens from loading the truck to reconciling it at the end of the shift.

StartRoute day begins
  1. Depot

    Load the truck

Stock is issued to the driver and the truck inventory is recorded on the mobile device.

  2. Driver

    Invoice on the route

Sales orders, invoices and receipts are issued at each stop, even in a network dead zone.

  3. Customer

    Collect payment

Take cash or instant digital payments and issue the receipt on the spot.

  4. Device

    Queue while offline

Transactions are stored on the device and queued for upload, so selling never waits for a signal.

  5. SalesLife HQ

    Sync when connected

The queue replays to head office as soon as the device is back online.

  6. Depot

    Settle the truck

Cash, digital payments and physical stock are reconciled against the truck at the end of the shift.

ResultTruck settled and posted to the ERP

Two ways to sell on the move

Queue busting on the shop floor

A floor-selling companion cart lets staff ring up customers in the queue, so the lane only has to take payment.

Van sales and route distribution

Drivers invoice, collect and record returns on a mobile device, even without a signal, and settle the truck at the end of the shift.

Customer self-service

The Customer App lets shoppers browse, pay and collect, without waiting for a cashier.

What a mobile seller can do

  • Look up products, prices and stock, including stock in other branches
  • Create a sale, an order or a quotation for the customer
  • Take M-Pesa, card or cash, or sell on credit within the customer's limit
  • Apply promotions and loyalty, using the same rules as the till
  • Send the receipt by WhatsApp, SMS or e-mail
  • Keep working offline, and sync when a connection returns

Yes. Mobile sellers keep working without a signal and sync when connected. Payments that need a network, such as M-Pesa STK, wait for the connection.

Can drivers settle a truck at the end of a shift?

Yes. Van sales include truck stocking, route invoicing and settlement of the truck's stock and cash at the end of the shift.

Does it use the same prices as the shop?

Yes. Mobile sellers use the same price lists and promotions, including route and region price groups.

What devices does it run on?

We recommend devices at your first meeting, based on how you will use them. See our guide to choosing POS hardware.
